We believe that icons of Polish design deserve full recognition. We want them to take their rightful place in the history of European design. That is why, for years, we have been introducing them to a broader audience. We are reviving the most recognized mid-century Polish design projects in a form that could not have been realized decades ago. We only use the highest quality wood and premium fabrics. And now another important model has been reissued in the quality it deserves.
Designed by the master
We are delighted to present yet another project by Józef Chierowski, which we have brought back to life 45 years after it was originally created. The 200-125 VAR armchair, commonly known as Aga, is a mature and sophisticated design in its simplicity. It was originally designed in 1975 and its creation story begins with a long evening spent with friends on an endless game of bridge…
It all started with a game of bridge
Was it one evening or many? A friend's joke or a designer's thought – we don't know. However, the truth is that Józef Chierowski often played bridge with his friends, and they often reminisced about how a soft chair would have worked much better than a hard one during long gaming sessions. And so the project was born: 200-125 VAR – a very compact, extremely comfortable chair with a softness that not every seat and backrest of a small-sized chair can offer.
For long sessions
The VAR chair is a perfect addition to the interiors of cafés, restaurants and bars. It works well wherever comfort for the people using the space is important, even in a small area. Thanks to its minimalist, universal form, it gracefully blends into different styles and allows for the combination of various finish colors. It will also be an excellent companion for moments spent in the family dining room.
