VAR Series
The 200-125 VAR Chair, also known as the Aga Chair, is another famous project by J. Chierowski. Its soft seat was designed with comfort in mind – the project was created in the early 1970s, when the designer and his friends spent their evenings and nights playing bridge. The jokes that Chierowski should design a comfortable seat for long games turned into reality.
The premiere of the VAR seat coincided with the wave of fascination with discussion and reading clubs, such as the journalist’s club, which is why the 200-125 VAR Chair quickly became popular not only among card game enthusiasts. Looking at J. Chierowski’s Icons, one can notice the process of evolution between subsequent projects, starting with the sketches of the 366 Armchair and ending with the brilliant 200-125 VAR Chair.
