La Vie en Rose and Red Brick: Mid-Century Design in a Delicate Powder Pink and Sensual Brick Red

Pink is traditionally associated with many things – like love, luck, and good health. Perhaps that’s why designers often choose it to create accents of color in their projects. And how about the pink glasses in these uncertain times? That’s what Edith Piaf sings about in her most famous song “La Vie en Rose” – an inspiration for us, today and always. And what about the Red Brick? Follow the steps of Yves Saint Laurent and Lady D…

Yves Saint Laurent loved the Powder Pink, matching it in a completely surprising combination with intense Red, changing the idea of both Red and Pink.

What is Powder Pink now and how does it make us feel?

Powder pink is both a memory of Elvis Presley’s pink car and a cotton candy, while also the symbol of a feminist revolution and the color of the millennial generation, that does not want to grow up at all. It is also the color of Instagram’s famous patisseries and Wes Anderson’s nostalgic movies. It’s also a color of Mid-Century style in Palm Springs and a hue of Miami’s Art Deco aesthetics, where buildings from the olden days still please the citizens with their joyful colors and functional shapes at the same time.

Why do we love Red Brick so much?

Red Brick is a hue characteristic for the Mid-Century and the 60. – the times when the most beautiful Polish furniture was designed. This style was developed after the Second World War and lasted until the 1970s. Now it returns again in a modern version. The Brick color is associated with joy and passion for centuries, it is also a symbol of good energy. Brick color can put you in a great mood, and also add character and a sense of exclusivity to the space.

Velvet is a synonym of luxury and elegance that has delighted us from when it was invented and till now, giving the interior a royal atmosphere. Did you know that our Velvet and Shine Velvet fabrics have a special stain-resistant coating that makes cleaning easier? Now you do!

So what is “La Vie en Rose”?

The song “La Vie en Rose” was released in 1945 right after the end of World War II. It is dedicated to the joy of finding love and the happiness piece brought to Europe. In English the song’s title would be something like “Life in happy hues”, “Life seen through happy lenses”, or “Life in rosy hues”; while literally it means “Life in Pink”. That’s what is of most interest to us: if you want (quite literally) to add happiness to your life, there is nothing more pleasant than to surround yourself with pink at home.

Our collection in the style of Yves Saint Laurent

Drawing inspiration from the reality that surrounds us, as well as the 1950s and 1960s, we make furniture that gives everyone a wink full of humor and joy. Classic Armchairs, Rockers, Footrests, Chairs and Sofas clad in velvety Powder Pink are sincere, friendly and full of nostalgia. Sweet and feminine innocent at the same time. They bring a smile, a joke, and a total lack of seriousness, which we all miss the most in these difficult times.
